LSF Health Systems is one of seven behavioral health Managing Entities (ME) contracted by the Florida Department of Children and Families to manage the state-funded system of behavioral health care for people who face poverty and are without insurance. LSF Health Systems serves a 23-county region in Northeast and North Central Florida. Our providers care for people who face the most vulnerable situations and do not have insurance. This includes children, adults, and families who lack the financial resources to afford care. Our goal is to ensure that every child and adult in need receive the right service, at the right time, and in the right setting.

Gainesville Opportunity Center finds a place to call home
December 8, 2020On Wednesday, November 18, 2020, the Gainesville Opportunity Center (GOC) celebrated the opening of its permanent home with a gathering of community leaders for a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Their new building, located near Northwest 13th Street and Northwest 16th Avenue in Gainesville, is a place for GOC members to learn valuable hands-on vocational and social skills.

Recognizing Domestic Violence Awareness Month
December 8, 2020This past October, to recognize Domestic Violence Awareness month, Gainesville, Florida TV station WCJB-TV interviewed LSF Health Systems’ CEO Dr. Christine Cauffield to discuss domestic violence and how the pandemic may be affecting the number of cases being reported. Dr. Cauffield noted that calls to the National Domestic Violence Hotline are expected to rise once social distancing restrictions are loosened.
