Faith and Community Leaders Rallying Together for a Common Cause

Much like a breath of fresh air on the Suwannee River, Uplift Tri-County was refreshing and serene. Camp Anderson Anchored provided a perfect venue for a day of resource sharing, gathering information and faith centered fellowship. Catering to the community we serve Donna Lee, from the Alzheimer’s Association provided senior services information and the importance of emergency preparedness for our loved ones. Highlighting “Better Together”, Cassidy Vaughn shared their program and the importance of partnering churches. Dusty Pye, shared a moving testimonial while homing in on UPLIFT and why it’s important to “Bridge the Gap.” The Jesus Infusion left us hungry for more information on their ministry and ways we can get involved. After a delicious lunch hosted by local sponsors, we wrapped up the day in a resourceful way. Chelsea Bowlin demonstrated how substance misuse affects children and what that looks like for the foster system. Programs such as the paramedicine program, CarePortal and CCA shared about their programs and the needs specific to the rural community. An unexpected attestation from New Ways Counseling on the system working when agencies come together wrapped up the day in a way no one saw coming. We heard firsthand from someone who was touched by many agencies in the room throughout her journey. Both on the faith side and through agency services, this now successful woman reaped the benefits of the “GAP being bridged.” One UPLIFT at a time.
